Hiking at Gold Creek

This weekend Justin and I decided to take Jackson into the mountains for some hiking. We planned a hike near Silverdale so we could hike in the morning on Saturday and do a surprise visit to Justin's parents for Mother's Day.

Saturday we got to the trail head at 9:00. We drove over an hour to get there - that was tricky with a rambunctious puppy in the back seat! The hike we picked had views of the Olympics and then a view of Seattle across the water - but we never got to see those in person. There was a sign about two miles in that said the rest of the trail was closed due to a logging project. Lame! We rebelliously hiked a bit farther so we could get a good look at the Olympics before turning around. We planned to hike until lunch time, so we took a few branching trails just because. On the way back we hiked down to a waterfall and let Jackson loose to play in the water. We love that he loves the water! He's a lot of fun. He did great during all the hiking.

\\We had lunch in the parking lot and then went to Poulsbo to buy Judy and mother's day gift. Justin bought her a date package which includes us taking Joe for a weekend of their choosing. Must be redeemed before baby comes! Ha. We spent the afternoon with his parents. Jackson slept all the way home and was out like a rock when we got home. We love our sweet pup.

Speaking of baby - I finished the dresser and have been playing around with ideas for his room. Here is what it all looks like:

There's a lot of touch up painting I need to do in the closet, but it's coming along! I'm doing a nautical theme in his room. Baby boy is very active. His heart rate at my last appointment was 160! He loves to move around. Sitting is becoming more uncomfortable. Saturday night after our Silverdale trip Justin and I went to the new Captain America movie. Those seats were torture for three hours! I still have my energy, and have yet to have any cravings this pregnancy. The third trimester is treating me well so far. 10 weeks to go!
