Happy Birthday!!

Last week I turned 23! And by "I" I mean "we"... Happy Birthday to Keaton as well :) I had one of the best birthdays this year! Justin worked from home on Friday, so we got to spend the day together. He made me strawberries&nutella/ham&cheese crepes for breakfast and got me some amazing gifts! He got me The Farming Game, two books, and even used his pinterest skills to buy me an outfit! He's pretty great...though I'm too picky and ended up returning the majority of the outfit ;) He also compiled a book of "favorite memories with Kelsey" from friends and family and I cried the whole time reading it! Cried or laughed because some of them were really funny....I love that gift so much!! Justin had another surprise up his sleeve, so he mysteriously drove me to a small town I can't remember the name of to a dog breeder's house to play with puppies!! When he initially called, she had 10 puppies but when we got there just a few days later there were only three left, all with homes ready to go to. Her business is crazy: you basically put in an order 3-6 months in advance to get a puppy if you want one from her, and they range from $1000-$1750!! I'll take the free pup from the borrowpit, thank you very much! The puppies were very cute, and I got to cuddle a chocolate lab that was so sweet and cute! I LOVE PUPPIES!!!!
There was a definite theme from my "favorite memory of Kelsey" book that included two things: 1. Keaton and I playing in Annie Get Your Gun and 2. Playing flag football. Super fun :)
From there we were tuckered out from driving so we laid low the rest of the day, and ended with eating out for dinner. I just had to have some sushi! We ended the day watching Harry Potter while playing The Farming Game. We have played that game three times already! Love it!
Best Gift EVER!!!!

Birthday Gifts! :)
Saturday morning Justin and I played racquetball and had a ton of fun! I'm getting better and better thanks to Justin :) We met up with Justin's parents and Jon and Laura to celebrate my birthday at "Sun Break Cafe" in Auburn.  It was soooo yummy!! And the serving sizes were unbelievable! We spent the afternoon watching some March Madness and playing games. I got everyone to play Quelf which I thought was a lot of fun! Justin's family isn't too keen on the game, but everyone was a great sport. Justin's parents got me a gift card, Joe got me some cash, and Jon and Laura got me a gift card...my family knows me well! I ended up getting a gift card from Keaton as well, and cash from my mom! This girl is going to do some much needed SHOPPING!!!! I love shopping!!! Though I love it more when I have a girlfriend to do it with.
Look at that Hot Chocolate!!

Update

We had a great week! Monday night Justin had a game in the YMCA Ultimate League and they won again! Justin's team is undefeated and they have a few weeks left of league so he is enjoying that. Everywhere we look the trees are in bloom and we've had gorgeous 60+ degree weather. It's going to be a beautiful spring!

Saturday Justin and his brother Joe went to a Sounders game. Joe bought Justin's ticket as a late birthday gift and they had a lot of fun with that. I carpooled with two couples for ward temple night that night. I thought about Mom and Dad since that was their last day serving in the I.F. temple. That was a really nice experience. There really is a special peace and comfort found there. We went out for Indian food afterward and that was interesting. I had lamb-something which was pretty good but...meh...I'll take a cheeseburger next time.

Sunday we drove Joe back to Silverdale and had lunch with Justin's parents. When we got home we went for a walk. We were walking by a bus stop and this guy asked us if we knew when the last bus came. It turns out it had already passed and he needed to get to Federal Way. We offered him a ride and we talked about the gospel the whole way up. At the end we invited him to come to church with us so we'll see what happens.

Things are chugging right along with Justin at work and with me with MK. We are happy as can be and have so many blessings. We are loving life! That's all our news for now!
This is Kari and Aaron Christenson's dog and we became friends right away! His name is Rocky. He is so much like Duke: I was happy to pet him for 15 minutes waiting to go to the temple.

I got a haircut this week: next time I'll be getting new highlights. My natural hair color is so dark! Or maybe it's this lack-of-sun thing and I'm vampire-white.

Point Defiance

The past couple weeks have been full of amazing weather. Justin, Jon, and I went to Silverdale last weekend to help tidy up Jon and Judy's house. I did tons of yard work for them: so much, that they want to hire me to do the rest! Ha! But I enjoyed doing the yard work so much. It reminded me of helping Mom with her yard and garden and I really loved it.

This month will mark four months since Justin and I moved here. It feels like a lot longer than that! But we absolutely love it! Justin had his 90-day review and everyone at work loves him (please: what's not to love about Justin?). Jon and Laura have both earned promotions as well. We are incredibly blessed. Now we'd just love to have Jon and Judy and Joe a little closer, so we'll see what the next few months bring us.

This weekend was Girl's Weekend for the Beals. I was sad to miss that, as my family gets together less and less these days. BUT I'm so excited for Keaton's wedding, which - seriously - will be here before you know it!

Sunday we had some great family time at Point Defiance. We ate yummy food, played croquet(and speed croquet- thanks Mitzi for bringing that game into my life!), and went for a walk. It was one of my favorite Rose activities ever! The weather is perfect right now. It is going to be a beautiful summer!
All Clara wanted to do was play on the slide...though she did NOT appreciate other kids cutting in line!

Look at that handsome man! Love him!!

Clara loves her Uncle Joe!

Justin killed us all in croquet!

Jon and Clara in the background cheering Grandma on!

These two were the last left with speed croquet trying to kill each other...so fun!

Don't mind my mullet...I have a haircut soon.

Clara loved playing with the rocks!

I loved that this tree had huge purple flowers growing on it! So pretty.
