He is building all of this from scratch. |
I had to unwrap and cut hundreds of yards of tulle...and there was glitter EVERYWHERE! |
After cutting all the strips, I then did the tying around the elastic band. I won't reveal the finished product until Halloween! |
Other things going on...teaching is wonderful and awful all at the same time. I remember thinking when I was student teaching "I can't believe that one day I'll be paid to do this!" because I was loving it all so much...well turns out that's not all we're paid for. We're also paid to do a bunch of other [insert your favorite derogatory adjective (mine is asinine)] tasks that have nothing to do with teaching and happen to take up the majority of our time, leaving less time to prep for the actual teaching part. So yeah, it's annoying to say the least. Not to mention the "helpful" staff members breathing down your throat telling you what you "should" do...Just in case you don't know this about me yet, here's a fun little tip: I am the last person you want to tell me what I 'should' do...I HATE being told what to do, and I especially hate being told what I should do...well, you should leave me alone, is what you should do. #endrant
But other than that I really am loving the teaching part of what I do. I am a dang good teacher, and my kids are the best thing ever! We had parent night at our school Tuesday night and my kids parents love me just as much as my kids do. As the parents would walk into my classroom they'd say stuff like, "And now for the favorite." Wednesday morning one of my students said, "My parents can tell why you're my favorite teacher." #win
Justin and I are playing in a city league for Ultimate and we're coaching our team. Our Shenanigans teams is also preparing for a tournament the first weekend in November, so we play three times a week: for city league, for practice, and then for pick-up. I got new cleats and everything. We love it!
October is here and the weather is changing. I am so grateful the weather is at least slightly cooling off! It still jumps up to 90 once and a while, but for the most part I can wear boots without suffocating.
In other news...The Roses know about this but most of the Beals don't: Justin is looking for work elsewhere, and he's looking beyond the city limits...he applied for a job in Seattle, and he's going to apply for another one. It's related to where his brother Jon works, so he has a good chance of getting it. There have been no offers, so there's nothing on the table yet, but we could have some choices to make, maybe sooner rather than later. Like I said, no decisions have been made but that is in the works so, that's that. Next weekend I get to see my best friend Kelsey Montgomery at her sister's wedding in Utah, so I'm SO EXCITED to see her after two and a half years! Until next time!
