Last weekend Justin and I flew to Idaho for his brother's wedding. I flew into Idaho Falls on Thursday so I could attend part of a Mary Kay event scheduled for that weekend. Trisha picked me up and I had a great time hanging out with her all day. We went out to lunch and also watched Hailey in her cross country meet. She is so talented! It was fun watching her. That night I went to my event and when I got home Trisha and I watched "The Help" while eating banana splits: yum!
Friday I hung out with Trisha all morning and then picked up a rental car and headed up to Rexburg for additional training. At 3:15 I left and headed to Emmett for James and Bonnie's reception. There reception was from 7-9 so when I pulled into into Boise at 7:00 I thought, "Awesome, I'll be there in 20 minutes!"...WRONG. Little did I know that Emmett is another 45 minutes away, and their house in particular (where the reception was) took an hour to get to! Oh...that was painful. And my phone was about to die with the directions on it so it was also quite stressful. But I arrived safely and had fun visiting with Justin's parents, Joe, and Jon and Laura. Jon and Laura got to leave their daughter Clara home and get away for a few days. It was great seeing all of Justin's family. The reception was really nice: they held it in Bonnie's parent's beautiful yard. There were a lot of mosquitoes, but other than that it was great! Turns out Bonnie has a great friend from Emmett who was one of my very first roommates at BYU-I so that was interesting...and also a little awkward considering we didn't really get along. #awky

After the reception the Roses headed back to their hotels while James and Bonnie stayed and hung out with her family. Laura hopped in the car with me and we enjoyed gabbing for the 30 minutes it took to get back to Caldwell where they were staying. We are really similar and get along so well, so we had lots of fun with just the two of us. After we dropped the family off, Justin and I headed to drop off my car rental and then head to Mitzi's. We got to her house at like 11:00 so we just went straight to bed.
Saturday morning we got up at 6:00 to get ready by 7:00 to drive to Twin Falls for the sealing. The sealing was at 12:00, but we were told pictures would be taken at 10:00 so we needed to be early for that. We grabbed McDonald's breakfast and waited for the rest of Justin's family so we could split up into both rental cars to have a good visit with everyone. On the way to Twin Falls I rode with Jon, Laura, and Judy and those two hours FLEW by from all the talking we did. We got to the temple shortly after 10 to find we were the only ones there (we weren't late: phew!)....but as 10:00 turned into 10:30 we figured we must've missed something. Somebody called James and he said that he and Bonnie were taking pictures at 10 at the "gorge"...so we were two hours early for the sealing for no reason. For Jon, Laura, Aunt Cathy, and Uncle Joe, that made them three hours early....Ladies and Gentlemen, this is what you'd call a miscommunication... Jon and Laura with Uncle Joe and Aunt Cathy took off to explore the views Twin Falls had to offer while the rest of us waited around until it was time for the sealing. The Burk clan showed up at 11:30 (like they were supposed to) and we all went inside.

The sealing was really awesome. The temple president sealed them; he was Bonnie's brother's mission president, so that was really cool. The temple sealer made it really special/awesome for them so that was really sweet to experience.
James and Bonnie had a luncheon planned for the afternoon at a cute place - The Brickhouse - and had a nice program to go with it. From there, we switched up the driving arrangements and made our way back to Boise. That drive felt a little slower after quite the eventful day, but Jon and I had fun exploring the world of ethics which kept things upbeat. We decided to go to Chick fil-A for dinner. I was so excited to get a peach shake but they were out of season!!! So sad!!!! Keaton will understand how much this pained me...but they recommended the "ladybug shake" which is a strawberry/oreo shake and it was awesome! We had a lot of fun at dinner with all of us and had some great laughs before they had to leave for the airport to fly home that night. Overall it was a great weekend spent with Justin's family. Justin is considering taking work in Washington, so we might end up moving there...but we don't know. We'll see what the future has in store for us.

We caught both father's making notes for the toasts they had to make...ha! |
For now, I am in my first month of teaching and loving it! While I was gone for the wedding I had my first sub, and my 3rd period class was a disaster for her. Poor girl. Apparently the kids got a hold of some sunflower seeds and were spitting them all over the floor. Seriously? Who does that? So I had fun taking care of that when I got back... But overall I am truly loving it. I just love those kids so dang much! One of the teachers in a different hall saw me on Friday and said, "My students can't stop talking about you." That felt so good to hear! It feels good to run the show.
Not a lot is new with Justin. He has seen a lot of progress in his fitness goals and it's fun to see. He's had to get new pants because his others are too big! That's always a good feeling, right? That's all our news for now! We're glad James and Bonnie are married and that we got to be there on their special day. We look forward to seeing Justin's family again for Thanksgiving. Until next time!
